Simple But Fun

I found these sets and had to decide which one I would buy first. Of course, each set comes with General Zod and Superman which makes the twelve dollar set largely redundant. I purchased this set for the extra minifigure and for the "escape pod." After building the set I was slightly disappointed. I have purchased many Lego sets in the past few years and this one felt lacking. The escape pod is nice but really small and doesn't have any features except the glass section which opens and closes. The section for General Zod included a neat sliding door feature I have never seen in Lego before, but the only other thing included was a couple of flick-fire missiles. The set is fairly small. Despite the set's smallness, the set is a lot of fun. Though it lacks cool features and size, the set is still nice and placing it with the movie scene should make it even more exciting. The real aspect that makes it fun is the minifigures. Superman and General Zod are in every set, but they are still very cool and detailed. Zod comes with optional armor, including a helmet, or you can remove parts of it and add hair. He comes with a gun and two different faces on each side. Lois Lane is a great minifigure to have and this is the only set she comes in. She has two facial expression options as well but does not include anything extra. Superman is the best part of this set; his uniform is well detailed and his cape really adds to the look of the minifigure. He comes with tow face options: serious and laser vision.
On the whole, this set is really fun.I really enjoy the set, especially for the minifigures. However, my complaint lies with the size and features. Lego usually includes larger or more feature driven sets. This set only really functions as a backdrop or scenery. Zod can only really stand or sit in his "lair" and Lois Lane can only really sit in a small escape pod. Of course, many people, like myself, will be buying this set for the minifigures. If it is the minifigures you want, this is a great set because you get the same minifigures form the twelve dollar set plus Lois Lane. If you want fun vehicles, purchase the fifty dollar set and get the more impressive vehicles.

Steal at the price

I just got this from Amazon at $13. Everywhere its a $19 set. It has several must have characters to add to the collection and the price was a steal. I definately recommend this set for the amount of lego pieces it has and also the price was a great bargain

Very good

I don't play with these myself. My grandsons love Legos. The prize was really good for my budget. Anything they can build and take down is a plus.
